A Day Trip to Brighton
I had just booked my first trip to London ever, and even though it was only a few days, I knew I wanted to spend one of them in Brighton. The city by the sea is the smaller, charming version of London in many ways. It has a beach (you always get me with a beach). It has a boardwalk! It has vintage flair and games, and it has a diy and vegetarian scene. Count me in!
The town is totally walkable, so I started my stroll at the train station and the first stop was the Royal Pavilion. It is a Palace in Indian style (think of the colonial history) with Chinese interior. There is a pretty park around it, and it's a pretty and unusual sight.
A short walk further along the beach, the remainders of the former pier, that was damaged by fire, are still visible in the sea. They are surrounded by gulls and waves and it looks mysterious and beautiful.
